Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year!
Hello, Parents, Students, and Community Members of Wellington EV Schools,
It is a great time to be a Duke! Every start to the school year is filled with a mix of emotions ranging from excitement to apprehension. While no one wishes the summer fun to end, the first day of school and the start of sports and activities are also things to look forward to. We get to see some of our current friends, teachers, and coaches, but we are also gifted with the chance to meet many new people, learn different things, and grow as students and people. One of the new people I hope you all have an opportunity to meet and get to know is me. As the new superintendent, I hope that every member of the Duke Family will make sure to stop and say hello when they see me at a school event or around town.
As many of you know, we have welcomed several new members to our staff. We have a new treasurer, principals at each building, and a few teachers and support staff. Each of us has been diligently preparing all summer for the start of school on August 28th, and we are ready to provide our students with an amazing experience. While we are thrilled to take on our new roles, we ask for your understanding as we grow into our positions. In the beginning, most of the daily operations will look and feel the same, but over time, you will start to see some subtle changes. We will do our best to communicate with you as we work to improve the overall experience for our students, families, and community. One change we have instituted is switching our emergency medical and contact information from a paper form to an online process through PowerSchool. This will increase the likelihood that your information is current and that all emails reach you. You can complete the student's forms if you already have a PowerSchool Parent account. You can find the “Forms” tab under ”More” within the PowerSchool app. We will send out additional information to help our families with the transition and will support you along the way, or you can reach out to your student’s building secretary.
We would like you to put a few important dates on your calendar.
Saturday, August 10 - Back to School Bash 12:00 - 2:30 in the McCormick MS Gym
Tuesday, August 27 - Parent Meet & Greet at each building from 4:30-6:30
Wednesday, August 28 - First Day of School!!!!
I am so excited to meet you all and Go Dukes!
Andy Peltz, Superintendent of Wellington Exempted Village Schools
Boys and Girls Club After School Program Update
Many of our families that have utilized the Boys and Girls Club after-school program have already heard that the grant paying for the service was not renewed. This was an unfortunate surprise for us all. We know that the timing of this news puts a lot of stress on some of our families. Please understand that the school board and administration are working hard to find a solution. We will do our best to communicate with you about finding a replacement program.

WELLINGTON, OH - (April 17, 2024)
The Wellington School District Board of Education is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Andrew Peltz as the district's new superintendent. Following a comprehensive search process, Dr. Peltz emerged as the standout candidate. His selection was made with valuable input from multiple interviews from students, staff, parents, the board of education and community members.
Board Member Pati Shellhouse shared that “Dr. Peltz has outstanding experience, a great vision for education, is a strong team player and is experienced at building a positive school culture.”
Board President Ayers Ratliff stated that “one of our new Superintendent’s goals is to know every child’s name in the district. It’s a worthy goal. Throughout this process, we had twenty-eight applicants, narrowed it down to nine, and then to four. We were blessed with extremely strong candidates and are thrilled to choose Dr. Peltz to lead our district.”With an enthusiasm to help students achieve their educational goals, Dr. Peltz has created new courses for high school students in his past roles. Since 2021, Dr. Peltz has served as Principal at Revere High School and was previously the Intermediate Principal at Troy Intermediate School in Avon Lake and Assistant Principal at Revere Middle School.
