On July 21, 2020 the Board of Education approved our Restart Plan, with school resuming on Monday, September 14, 2020. The Full Plan can be viewed on the district website, www.wellingtonvillageschools.org.
The plan includes 2 choices... either participate in the variable model depending on the health emergency level in our county which could include 5 days in person, or hybrid with some days in person and some days virtually, or 5 days virtually if health conditions worsen. The other option is to select 100% online for the first semester and to determine in January if you wish to continue online or opt back into the school variable model.
Given our current health rating, our schools will be opening in a hybrid model.
McCormick Middle School and Wellington High School will split students by last name into two cohorts. Cohort A (A-M) will attend school in person on Monday and Tuesday, and virtually on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Cohort B (N-Z) will attend school in person on Thursday and Friday, and virtually on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Westwood Elementary School will split students into AM or PM cohorts. Students would attend either mornings or afternoons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday with Wednesday as a virtual day. Parent input into their choice of morning or afternoon is included with this registration form. Our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club this year will allow for club members to attend club from 11:00 until 3:00 and/or from 3:00 until 6:00.
The 100% Online Model will be in partnership with Edmentum with their digital platform EdOptions. Wellington teachers as well as Edmentum instructors will support students.
Parent Restart Workshops will be hosted virtually at each school during the last week of August and the first week of September. Each school will host 2 workshops. These virtual workshops will help prepare families for restart and explain the details of scheduling, hallways, and lunch service. There will also be a parent orientation with EdOptions. These workshop dates and times will be published soon.
A Family Resource Guide will be mailed out to homes in the next two weeks to help prepare your child for return to school and will include a Transportation Bulletin and a Food Service Bulletin with details on these services.
In the registration link below you will complete your schooling options and preferences for your children. This registration form can be used for up to 5 children in your household. If you have more then 5 children you will need to complete the form a second time for the additional children.
Try to complete this registration by Saturday, August 15, 2020.
Please reach out to any of our school offices if you have additional questions or need help completing the selection and registration form.
Thank you for your partnership with the Wellington Schools!
