Dear McCormick students, staff and families,

I am so excited to start this school with you as the proud principal of McCormick Middle School. The 2024-2025 school year is going to be a journey full of endless possibilities and wonderful opportunities.  I look forward to working together with all staff members, parents, and community members, where the ultimate goal will be for all students to make academic progress and demonstrate personal growth.   

I was born and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania and graduated from Neshannock High School.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, learning, working out, and watching and talking about sports.  I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a dual certification in Elementary Education and Special Education in 2009.  Although I am from Pennsylvania, my entire professional career has taken place in the state of Ohio.

My first teaching position was at the Mahoning County Educational Service Center, where I was an intervention specialist from 2009-2013.  I was a classroom teacher at the Lakeview Local School District from 2013-2017 where I taught 7th grade math and ELA.  During this time, I obtained my master’s degree in School Leadership from Baldwin Wallace in 2017.  My most recent role was as the assistant principal at Sailorway Middle School with the Vermilion Local School District from 2017-2024.  During this time, I earned a second master’s degree from Capella University in Curriculum and Instruction.       

School safety and security will always be our number one priority at MMS, and our shared vision will be for all students to learn and grow in the classroom and beyond.  I am looking forward to an incredible school year where everyday will be a tremendous honor to be a Duke!
