She has spent more than 20 years developing her craft in various educational environments. Her career began teaching special education in an urban city school district. She has designed and implemented both adult and student web-based education. As an administrator, supporting teachers working with students with disabilities gained her the knowledge of teamwork, collaborative practices ensuring growth, and educational ethic that she encourages and builds in the districts she works with.
In her role at the State Support Team as an Educational Consultant, she worked with school districts to support their use of the Ohio Improvement Process through the use of the Cycle of Inquiry, developing strategic plans in order to help support educational growth. In addition, she has remained an adjunct professor with Ashland University teaching Master’s courses for more than 10 years.
She has received Licensure/Certification in the following areas: Professional Elementary Teaching License (1-8), Elementary Principal License (Pre-K - 6) Professional License, Middle Principal License (4-9) Professional License, and a K-12 Reading Endorsement.
“I am honored to be welcomed into such an incredible school as the Westwood Elementary School principal,” said Kubasak. “My passion for student success will shine through as together we grow strong readers, life long learners, and student's who believe in themselves. I look forward to helping each and every student reach their fullest potential.”
“I am so delighted to find such a solid fit for Westwood Elementary School,” said Ed Weber, Wellington Village Schools superintendent. “Dr. Kubasak's expertise in literacy and her supportive communication style will be a strong asset for our students and families. Her professional development skills in reading, gifted, trauma informed care, special education, and the Ohio Improvement Process will benefit our faculty and school community greatly. I am excited for the years ahead for our students, staff, and families to showcase Westwood Elementary School, where the Duke begins.”
