Rex Brasee Memorial Scholarship
Rex Brasee graduated from Wellington High School in 1981. During his twelve years in the Wellington schools, he was very active in athletics lettering in football, basketball, baseball, and track. He also coached youth football and basketball. After graduation from WHS, Rex graduated from ETI in Cleveland with an associate’s degree in electronics.
Rex Brasee was killed in an automobile accident in 1988. After his death, the Brasee family sponsored softball and golf tournaments which supported a scholarship award for Wellington athletes. In 2005, the Brasee family endowed this scholarship through the Wellington Schools Endowment Fund. By endowing this scholarship, the Brasee family will ensure that Rex’s love for competitive sports will live on through future Wellington High School athletes. This scholarship is awarded each year by the Brasee family to a WHS senior athlete for post secondary expenses.
