This scholarship honors the memory of Mayo G. Wood, the former editor of the Wellington Enterprise and founding member of the Wellington Schools Endowment board of trustees. Following his untimely death in 1987 at the age of 59, his family and friends created this scholarship in his memory. This scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000. The Wood Scholarship is administered by the Board of Trustees of the Endowment Fund.
